Valour FC thrashed Atletico Ottawa 4-0 in the second game of their CPL campaign, as Atelti receive their second red card in as many matches.
An emotional Jose Galant, a product of the Atletico Madrid academy, completed the routing of Atletico Ottawa on an afternoon to forget for the Ontario outlet.
Atletico Ottawa were lucky to go into the break at 0-0 having been by far the second-best side in the first half. Despite this, the team from Ottawa came out stronger after the restart but just like against York 9, their fortunes turned when they were reduced to 10-men.
Milovan Kapur, receiving his second yellow card of the match, brought down Stefan Cebara in the box, the resulting penalty converted by Fraser Aird to give Valour the lead.
Captain Andrew Jean-Baptiste doubled Valour's lead from a corner when he rose highest, placing a powerful header past Nacho Zabal.
Valour were not content to sit on their lead, adding to what could be an invaluable goal-difference in the race for the top four. Two quick goals in the 80th and 94th-minute by substitutes Dylan Carreiro and Jose Galan rounded off the 4-0 win for the team from Winnipeg.

It took only five minutes for the team from Winnipeg to start threatening the Atletico goal. Valour striker Austin Ricci drawing an excellent save from Nacho after being found by Stefan Cebara's pullback.
Ricci proved a handful for the Atletico defence, drawing a yellow card from Kapur when the centre-back manhandled the Valour striker as he looked to turn and get in behind.
It wasn't long before all of Nacho's experience was called into action once again. An unorganised Atletico defence allowed full-back Brett Levis to venture into the box, his left-footed shot had to be expertly pushed onto the angle of post and bar.
More calamitous defending from Ottawa invited pressure from Valour. Diego Gutiérrez Zuñiga, driving at the heart of the Atletico defence, found Ricci who's half volley drew another fine save from Nacho.
Atletico Ottawa produced very few chances and Valour looked dangerous every time they went forward. Five minutes before the break Aird played a quick freekick to Mastanabal Kacher. Kacher drove to the byline and flashed a menacing ball across the 6-yard area missing Julian Dunn by inches.
Reckless challenges cost Atletico again as Valour substitutes come good.
Atletico looked a much-improved side after the break. The questionable substitution, replacing Acuna - arguably their best player - with youngster Antoine Coupland, working wonders.
The change freed up captain Ben Fisk who started to pull the strings within Ottawa's midfield, his 52nd-minute cross inches away from Malcolm Shaw.
Shaw didn't have to wait long for another opportunity, cutting inside Valour FC's captain Jean-Baptiste, the 24-year-old Canadian striker unleashing a shot that was well saved by James Pantemis.
Atletico's first shot on target was followed up by Fisk who struck the rebound past Pantemis and onto the foot of the post - the keeper lucky that the ball rebounded over him rather than off his back and into the net.
That was as close at Ottawa would come though as on the 63rd-minute, after a lovely interchange down the Valour right-wing Gutierrez released Cebora on the overlap.
The full-back charged into the box and was brought down by Kapur from behind. The challenge earned the centre-back a second yellow card and, for the second consecutive match, Atletico Ottawa were down to 10-men and facing a spot-kick.
Valour midfielder Fraser Aird calmly slotted the ball past Nacho to give the Winnipeg side the lead, and with the man advantage, Ottawa's day would only get worse.
Some heroic defending from Brandon John and Gianfranco Facchineri on either side of a great save by Nacho kept the Valour strikers at bay but it wasn't enough to stop them from extending their lead.
A corner kick taken immediately after the second-half drinks break seemed to catch Atletico napping. Valour extended their league after captain Jean-Baptiste's towering header was planted emphatically into the top corner.
Valour came close twice to extending their league before, in the 90th-minute substitute Carreiro drove to the edge of the box. His left-footed shot deflected off Viti Martinez before squirming under Nacho's hand to make it 3-0.
The routing was completed three-minutes later when substitute Shan Hundal tore down the right-wing before squaring it to fellow second-half substitute Galan.
Spanish midfielder Galan, former Atletico Madrid academy product, expertly controlled and converted the cross before showcasing an emotional celebration, completing Valour's routing.
